IDENTIFYING THE SOURCES- TURNING
THE TIDE OF OPPRESSION
Persecution is allowed to flourish
by deliberate, oppressive policies made by educational professionals
manipulating the flow of information in their school systems. They
choose to keep children and staff ignorant of the true meaning of
Native American religious beliefs and deny their cultural heritage
which are these religious beliefs. When school employees portray Native
Americans in such an ignorant fashion they victimize these children,
psychologically molesting them instead of nurturing them.
Once again to honor a Native American
child equally with other children do you feel that their religious
symbols and cultural identity deserve the same dignity as any other?
Yes or No?
Administrators and teachers arrogantly
segregate Native American children, shamefully treat them as inferior
to any other people and secure the system of apartheid by:
A. Refusing knowledgeable Native
American speakers the opportunity to talk at meetings.
B. A spoils system of jobs, aides
positions and resume padding to select minorities and Native Americans
who will deflect criticism and support the "Indian" mascot
identity in public schools.
C. Ignoring local, State and National
Desegregation and Equity Council evaluations.
D. Maintaining black lists against
persons which eliminate access to knowledgeable minorities and Native
public speakers.
D. Thwarting and eliminating public
discussion and debate.
E. Withholding letters, reports
and information from decision makers.
F. Failing to implement staff
training on the history and practices of contemporary racism and religious
supremacy.
G. Teaching a false history of
Native Americans designed to justify the genocide of Native Americans
and the theft of resources that would provide for their future survival
at the hands of European invaders.
SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY TO CHILDREN-
Public education has been indicted
in many communities and condemned at the national level for failing
to teach the most basic skills to their customers, our American children.
Six out of ten students will leave their school systems incompetent
in the areas of reading, math and science and totally ignorant of
the social skills needed to survive in a diverse world in which the
ability to relate with those who are different than ourselves will
become critical to one's own survival. Worse than this 60-70% of minority
students will leave school -PERIOD- years before the high school commencement
exercises. It is simply because they do not respect a system that
does not respect them, and why should they? Would you?
Were most public school employees
subjected to the same standard of performance that any employee of
a fast food restaurant is, they would be immediately fired. They simply
fail to teach their students. Schools are packed with half awake employees
claiming to be teachers and administrators who are making goals and
promises which they never intend to deliver. School plans and goals
are written just to be written and are manipulated as another bureaucratic
barrier to put between those they are supposed to serve.
Public schools will talk in unintelligible
jargon to parents then fill out reams of forms in order to throw a
smoke screen of distraction to cover their incompetences. Children
are not learning and our schools are failing.
They will clutch at federal funding
and local property tax pupil base dollars even though they do not
provide a basic education to over half their students. Schools fail
to learn about and refuse to understand the individual cultural and
racial backgrounds of their students and how to teach them in ways
that are simple and relevant. Instead they will indulge in idleness
in the face of the desperate need for creativity and research, fail
to stay on task and even fail in the most simple time tested method
of their professions, modeling the fundamentals of an educator, "thinking
and growing".
The failure of schools to provide
basic academic education for over half our children proves that they
have not adapted to the present state of the world our children live
in or else they would be able to teach our children. Our children
are teachable, but our schools are incompetent. They have not risen
to meet the challenges of the present day. This failure of academic
teaching also serves as proof that schools have failed just as miserably
in ending segregation, racism and bigotry in their system. Our schools
are still racist because they are still frozen in the past and the
past was a hateful and malicious time for minorities.
SCHOOL VIOLENCE: TAKE AWAY THEIR GUNS
BUT LEAVE A GUARANTEE OF RACIAL CONFLICT TO FIGHT OVER?
