The eagle feather headdress is a sacred symbol of many Native peoples.

Eagle feathers are earned one at a time by a person for many reasons. Reasons may be a death of a loved one, for extraordinary community service or for saving a life. Veterans receive eagle feathers for their service.
Eagle feathers are used in healing ceremonies and for mind, heart and emotional trauma and sickness.

Eagle feathers are not entertainment objects.

The Tulsa Oklahoma Public Schools have made a mocking chicken feather imitation of these sacred symbols of faith, healing and worship. They have been placed on a child's head for your entertainment during a sporting event.

This is a disgusting abuse of Native American religious beliefs. This practice encourages children and adults to ridicule and mock the spiritual life of Native Americans.
