The Eagle Feather

Native American religious symbols such as the images of eagle feathers, symbols of clothing, songs, dance and names that refer to Indians are religious symbols. There was no tolerance by the US Government for Indian religions in 1890. It was against the law to practice Indian religion.

There is no tolerance today for Indian religions, including public school sites. Native American religious symbols are not recognized as religious or given the same respect and treatment as other religious symbols.

To receive this many feathers is very unusual it would take a lifetime.

These are not toys, artifacts, souvenirs, relics, Halloween costumes or mascot outfits.
They are the unique expressions of the connection of the human spirit to the source of life.

Children are taught from a very young age to dishonor and belittle Native American religions.
