ENCOURAGING VIOLENCE
AGAINST INDIANS
the white man's newspaper, Hutchinson, Kansas
BACKGROUND-
August 14, 1999- The Hutchinson News, apologized to Kansas AIM Support Group spokeswoman, Joni Tucker-Nisbeth, for their headline reading "HEAP BIG CHIEF". Managing Editor, Gregory Halling, promised "Our editors will show more sensitivity in the future."
April 8, 2001- Reader, take a look at what "sensitivity" means to white people.
Barely a month after Hutchinson News publisher, Jim Bloom, condemned nearby Prosperity Elementary School in February, 2001, for encouraging violence by planning to bring flour shooting guns into classrooms for a civil war shoot out, he prints in bold headlines
"ORIOLES GUN DOWN INDIANS"
In this day and age when guns and knives are taken from school children everyday and when violence is considered a viable method among juveniles for dealing with conflict, there is only one question. WHY WOULD THE HUTCHINSON NEWS ENCOURAGE GUNNING DOWN INDIANS FOR ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER?
We can only guess...
A. Does the HUTCHINSON NEWS think people are too sensitive about school violence and there aren't enough dead children gunned down in hallways of schools like Columbine, Colorado and Santee, California?
B Does the HUTCHINSON NEWS think the criminal hate threats, racial hate threats and sexual assault threats from Little River Redskins in their region are entertainment events? Is publisher Jim Bloom trying to desensitize people a little bit- at the expense of Indians- to get some more subject matter on juvenile criminal assaults and arrests?
C. People have accused Jim Bloom of being too sensitive about gun violence when he said Prosperity Elementary Students playing around with fake guns and making gun talk was playing with potential school violence. Is the SOLUTION to DESENSITIZE by printing:
"(whomever) Gun Down Indians"
Ask the man on the street if printing "(whomever) Gun Down Indians" matters and find out if this gets a laugh about it in public. Hey, if you can't say "gun down Indians", who can you say it about? Black Men? How about Little White Girls? Which brings us to our next point...
C. Jim Bloom is not Indian, but his daughter is a little white girl. However, OUR families are composed of Indians and of little girls so when we read in big letters in his newspaper, "(whomever) Gun Down Indians" we see "GUN DOWN LITTLE INDIAN GIRLS" We also know any bigot in the area who wants to send more threats or just take up a gun and use it sees
"GUN DOWN (whomever) INDIAN"
Then the bigot laughs and laughs, hugs their baseball mit or beer or whatever a white bigot hugs, and laughs some more.
But what we do is talk back to Jim Bloom, like he talks to us, in his newspaper and we say. Print us a story about a sport that says...
"(your team here) GUN DOWN
LITTLE WHITE GIRLS"
Now that's what we call good sporting fun!
That's how you can honor white people!
Of course, when we say this about white people then you get upset. But, before you white people or any of their Chief Watermelon Fetchers, or Chief Taco Grindin' lackeys start to write to us and say you are all insulted, be sure to understand our response is "GOOD, NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS".
Unlike you idiot white people, we do not want to have any little girls or anybody gunned down. White people, like Jim, can't identify the sources of violence and don't really care about anybody outside their own fence anyway, especially non-white people outside their fence. But what we want to know is why you, reader, will stand for any newspaper in this country to print this kind of encouragement to violence?
We ask you to contact/write to the Hutchinson News and tell them to stop encouraging violence against Indians or to encourage more violence against white people for a change, so this Indian mascot issue will get out into the public attention. Because what you have going now is a clear statement from your average hometown newspaper that white people are too stupid to learn how to change racism and do not care when they encourage violence.
What you also have in an article like this from the Hutchinson News is a guarantee that another white school kid is going to gun down some other white school kid in an argument over mascot Indians. Then are you are going to go home and say to your reflection in the mirror, "What's the matter with kids today? Where do they get such ideas?"
