American Veterans, once heroes, now today they are only the homeless, the hopeless, the abused, TODAY'S MASCOTS.
In the past a President of the United States knew the meaning of a Veteran's Sacrifice. The Veteran walked with honor among the people.
Now, the Veteran is treated with disrespect by a President, whose heart does not know the meaning of the gift of the Veteran. Where are the men who posses the honor to hold this flag, are they only beggars, numbering among the homeless, the president's mascots? Are they now to only be allowed to appear at political functions in hopes a politician may drum up a vote? No longer in public except at the whim of a president who does not understand the sacrifices of the Veteran in his heart he has no honor for them. His heart has never felt caring for the sacrifices these men have made.
The Commander in Chief thinks of the Veteran only when he wishes to flex his military muscles. Before and after this moment the Veteran is abandoned or trotted out to decorate the politician's bandstand at political functions. The President has never walked in the moccasins of the Warrior.
By his actions the President has made the Veteran into his mascot. When the Veteran makes his sacrifice for freedom he returns to find the President treats him as a beggar. The Veteran must beg to even have his family's concerns listened to. Where is the president when it is time to find the Missing in Action, when it is time to provide the truth about Gulf War Syndrome? Where is the President when alcoholism, drug additions and despair overwhelm and destroy more veterans than did combat?
- Where is the President for the Veterans after he has made them into his cannon fodder? He is busy preparing them to become his mascots.
- Where is the President when it is time to explain to children that the freedom they enjoy every day came from the Veteran?
The President, who does not know of the Veteran's sacrifice from within his heart will gladly send more fighting men into conflict in Iraq knowing they will return to be his mascots, they will receive his pat on the head then they see his back turned on them, they will receive silence and tokenism. He will hire his flunkies to speak for the Veteran then tell the American people the Veteran is taken care of.
Veterans come back to see how the President abuses the freedom they fought for.
The President is busy preparing the American people to make mascots of any people who they do not understand. Setting the machinery of abuse into motion the President knows that his political and financial success is well lubricated by keeping Americans ignorant. He knows that ignorance of the sacrifices of any group of people, will create a fertile training ground where shallow stereotypes substitute for the truth. Stereotypes that will fit his plans and his career success. He may deeply believe these stereotypes himself because the President does not know the experience of the Veteran.
He will substitute fantasy for the hard facts of the sacrifices made by the Veteran. He calls for living men to protect freedom, but upon their return labels the Veteran a political minority group. Behind their backs, upon their return, he calls them a special interest group, then elbows them aside with smiles and pats on the head as he gathers reporters and relates his version of the Veteran's life. The Veteran becomes in those moments ever more the President's mascot.
The President, who has had his good fortune given to him on a golden platter of campaign contributions has prepared a fertile ground of ignorance in America, so that the Veteran can be treated in a two faced manner, sacrificed, then patted on the head and shoved into the role of his mascot.
The President does not remember the sacrifice of the Veteran as schools do not remember the suffering of the Native American. In return they do not teach the sacrifices of the Veteran. Has the Veteran of the United States become the mascot of the US as the Indian has become the mascot of professional sports and public schools? Ignorance of the sacrifices of Native American people like igonorance of the Veterans sacrifice is the primary way they are made into mascots.
Bill Clinton could never be a Veteran but he makes the Veteran his mascot. He is preparing more Veterans as his play toys. Will he send his favorite mascots to Iraq to commit sacrifices he will never understand? Will the President, like US schools, make mascots of those he does not understand, those who have received the injustices and suffering, those who made the sacrifices?
- When will the American people say no to human mascots because they realize that the mascot is an abusive mental and emotional set up manipulated to gain political and economic control?
- When will people place the honor of Veterans in their highest esteem, never allowing the Veteran to be ridiculed?
The Native American knows the lie of the President because they have fought and died to protect this country, just as their ancestors fought and died to protect their spiritual beliefs. The same military office promising peace to the Native American never honored those promises. The American Veteran, like the Native American receives this lie and the same dishonor from the Commander in Chief, President Bill Clinton. The government makes promises then the returning Veteran is treated like a beggar. His sacrifice is not understood or talked about, he becomes separated from the people he fought to protect, ignored by the President until campaign time. Will the President turn the new Gulf War Veterans into his mascots? How many more Veterans wiill the President turn into his mascots?
Ask the Veteran what honor is and restore honor to this land. This Veterans Day, Mr. President, you must restore honor to the Veterans. They are the ones who have given you the right to be President when you have not earned the right yourself. If you have any honor for the Veterans of this country you will speak out and demand that the Veteran be respected.
This is a picture of the mascots of America, on the gym floors of schools owned by professional sports teams, ridiculed and disgraced by the president of the US ridiculed by this president .
When will the president stand up and say no Veteran is a mascot, but a man of honor?
