WHY SHAME THE WARRIOR,
THE AMERICAN VETERAN?
I have felt the pain of lost warriors, who have died for this land you call America.

Those warriors were fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters,
YES! They are our family.

Yet you make then mascots.
The Veteran, who gave you freedom is the Warrior with blood on his hands.
This is his gift to you so you may have life and pursuit of happiness.
He must live with death in his dreams.
When do you give the Warrior, the Veteran in return for his gift to you?
He is your toy! |

| You make mascots of all Veterans and it is the Warrior, the Veteran, who is laughed at in public. |

Did we not die along side the warriors of America, in all wars?
YES WE DID!

Ira Hayes, with four warriors, raised the flag under enemy fire at Iwo Jima, WWII.
Three died within minutes of the taking of this photo. |
Are not the warriors who died to give you freedom,
the warriors who came home with parts of themselves missing,
worth more than to have a name WARRIOR that speaks of their
honor,

becoming nothing more them a mascot at a school's game?

Why shame the name of WARRIOR?
Do you not know that the American Veteran is that WARRIOR who
gave you the rights and everything you hold sacred in the land?
The Native Americans of this land are Warriors,
the American Veteran is a Warrior
They have given their all.

My people sing of the Warrior's honor
while American schools make Warriors into mascots fit only
for fun and games.

Why are the warriors who came home, the Veterans, not honored?
Will the Veteran die with your shame?
Will the teachers in our schools teach the truth of warriors?

Public school teachers, playing dress-up have placed the warrior's feather of honor on a wooden dummy of a child. McPerson, KS |
Will they tell of the pain that lives in a veteran's heart,
will they give the honor back to the American Warriors?
Or will they only shame the name warrior at a game for entertainment?

I ask you, think about this!
I ask you to respect the Veteran who is the Warrior.
