Sand Creek massacre, 450 bodies mutilated November 1864 in an
Ethnic Cleansing which terrorized Native people in the region. It unleashed an incredible wave of white greed and opportunism. Whites poised to grab land did so leading to the establishment of the City of Wichita, six months later.
"I saw in riding over the field a man (a sergeant of the 3rd) dismount from his horse and cut the ear from the body of an Indian, and the scalp from the head of another. I saw a number of children killed; I suppose they were shot, they had bullet holes in them; one child had been cut with some instrument across the side. I saw another that both ears had been cut off...I cannot say how many dead Indians I saw; I did not count all; I counted one hundred or a little over...". -Amos D James, Soldier First Colorado Cavalry Sand Creek Massacre 1865 (Hoig)
No one could commit such atrocities against the precious lives of little children unless
they saw them as nothing more than animals or objects of extreme hatred.THEY WERE CALLED REDSKIN ANIMALS AND HUNTED FOR SPORT
"There was one little child, probably three years old, just big enough to walk through the sand. The Indians had gone ahead, and this little child was behind following after them. The little fellow was perfectly naked, traveling on the sand. I saw one man get off his horse, at a distance of about seventy-five yards, and draw up his rifle and fire-he missed the child. Another man came up and said, 'Let me try the son of a bitch; I can hit him.' He got down off his horse, kneeled down and fired at the little child, but he missed him. A third man came up and make a similar remark, and fired, and the little fellow dropped."
Testimony, 1864, Major Scott Anthony First Colorado Cavalry, before the United States Congress, "Massacre of Cheyenne Indians" at Sand Creek, in Report on the Conduct of the War
(38th Congress, 2nd Session, 865, p.27)
This is a true incident recorded in the time of open hatred for Native American people. This is the attitude of a time that not recognize the Native Americans in any human form. A time filled with calls for genocide against the "REDSKINS". The execution of this child is the history of millions of families across Turtle Island.
It is their ancestral history.
Their unjust murder is a recorded part of history...-10 years later, founder of Wichita, James R. Mead rode in his new wagons with his entourage down to the Cheyenne concentration camps to view the survivors.
"They seemed to be about as spiritless and worthless as a lot of wild animals brought from the wilderness of Africa and confined in cages for
purposes of exhibition."Expressing his traditional Christian values after the pogrom of Sand Creek, James Mead preferred to trade with White People after spying as an "Indian Trader" in Cheyenne lands for ten years. His profiteering by the deaths of Cheyenne children made him wealthy. He continued to enjoy their starvation in Indian Territory long after helping to deport them to build the city of Wichita, Kansas.
NATIVE AMERICANS
ARE STILL ON EXHIBITION IN WICHITA,
and they are STILL CALLED "REDSKINS".
Cheyenne woman from the Sand Creek Massacre guarding a trash can at North High School in Wichita. She still wears her eagle feathers which were torn from her head when they cut her breasts off along with the mutilations of 300 other women and children and 150 men. Today she is called a redskin just as she was by the "100 Days" vigilantes who killed her. The governor promised all the plunder and land to those who volunteered to go after Native American families.
You will find the land and the plunder use as play toys in Wichita Kansas.
